Explore Olompali’s Unique Geology
Olompali slopes and wide-open grasslands
Join geology instructor Steven Newton on a geology walk and talk to explore Olompali’s unique geology and watershed. Olompali is situated on the slopes of Mount Burdell, a volcanic extrusion made up of andesitic lava flows and volcanic tuff breccia, while the oldest bedrock in the park are metamorphic rocks of Franciscan outcrops. Come join Professor Newton to see how it all came together!
